The 24/25  Carabao Cup Third Round draw is made live and in full, following busy midweek action from the Second Round with a few surprises.

The Carabao Cup Round Three draw took place live on Sky Sports following the conclusion of the Round Two tie between Nottingham Forest and Newcastle United on Wednesday the 28th of August.

Draw Conditions will be implemented for the Carabao Cup Round Three draw due to the scheduling of European competition fixtures over two exclusive midweeks in September.
Carabao Cup Round Three fixtures will take place W/C 16 & 23 September, with fixtures in the Champions League (W/C 16 September) and Europa League (W/C 23 September) also scheduled during this period. The additional dates required in the calendar for European competitions are as a result of an increased number of games for the 2024/25 season.
To ensure there is no clash of fixture dates, conditions will be implemented during the Round Three draw to ensure a Club participating in the Champions League does not draw a Club participating in the Europa League, to enable the Round Three fixtures to take place in the alternate week.

Draw Conditions
The Round Three draw consists of 32 Clubs – 25 winners from Round Two with the seven Premier League Clubs in UEFA competitions also entering in this round.
The UEFA Conference League, a competition Chelsea FC could be participating in, is due to begin in October and therefore has no impact on the Carabao Cup Round Three draw.
For the main draw, two separate bowls will be utilised:
Bowl 1 – consisting of the six UCL and UEL Clubs
Bowl 2 – consisting of the remaining 26 Clubs
A pre-draw will take place prior to Nottingham Forest’s Round Two fixture against Newcastle United on Wednesday 28 August, live on Sky Sports, to determine the Home/Away positioning of the six Clubs in Bowl 1 for the first six ties of the main draw.
The main draw will be conducted following the conclusion of the game at the City Ground – also live on Sky Sports. The first six ties will be drawn by alternating between one Club from Bowl 1 and one Club from Bowl 2, with the Home/Away positioning of the Club from Bowl 1 already pre-determined in the earlier draw.
Once the six Clubs from Bowl 1 have been drawn, the remaining ten ties will be drawn from Bowl 2 only. From this round of the competition, the draw is no longer split into northern and southern sections.
Sky Sports’ Carabao Cup presenter Mark Chapman will host the draws.

@Dougie93: Basically guaranteed that the top 8 from the prem last season will go through to the 4th round. Great for football that mind #CarabaoCup
@Lee_Sims94: Protecting the clubs with the biggest budgets and biggest squads. Make it make sense. #CarabaoCup
@Tomfurness2: Chelsea vs Barrow lol good time to play the youth #CarabaoCup
@YouBearsssssss:LiverpoolMan CityMan UtdArsenalALL at Home 🤣🤣 I mean you’d never predict that woule you 🤦‍♂️ #CarabaoCup
@Lsd388: What a farce of a draw #CarabaoCup
@Buz180: The lower league teams may as well pack up and go home. The English game is totally set up purely for the “big boys” #CarabaoCup
@Johno_nufc: That cup draw format is a disgrace mind #CarabaoCup
@AndrewTurmer: Home tie against Barrow. That worked out brilliantly. Maresca can rest our injury prone legs and let a load of academy boys start. #CarabaoCup
@couge0102: How is this draw for the Carabao Cup a level playing field?! The big clubs already have 100’s of millions advantage.. lets also give them guaranteed easier games 🤦‍♂️. #CarabaoCup
@Sfow1037: What an absolute shitshow of a draw that was. Just get rid of whoever qualifies for Europe from now on. They only ever play reserves as it is #CarabaoCup
@StokeFanDan: Home to Fleetwood? Charlie Adam returning to the Potteries? I can’t be mad about that. 👍 #SCFC #CarabaoCup
@dannyschof81: should be renamed the cartel cup. 😡 #CarabaoCup
@FrankieHolliday: How about, instead of giving the teams in Europe easy draws against lesser teams they don’t compete in this competition and have the winner of the cup enter the Conference league giving new teams a chance of Europe each season. Win,win as all they do is complain #CarabaoCup
@JWeisgard: Whoever decided on this format clearly doesn’t have the best interests of the game at heart. Football is dead #CarabaoCup
@BobbyC_1878: We are now no longer hiding corruption it is live for all to see and we can do nothing about it. That Carabao cup draw was an absolute joke. Time for all clubs to stand up and sort this shit show that football is becoming out before it’s to late #CarabaoCup
@RJFox91: Can someone explain what is stopping one European qualified club playing another European qualified club in the Carabao Cup? #CarabaoCup
