Fabio Wardley has warned Oleksandr Usyk that he is not content with just one world title, with the British heavyweight targeting a unification bout with the Ukrainian after his upcoming contest against Daniel Dubois.
Wardley, 27, will face Dubois for the British and Commonwealth heavyweight titles at the Copper Box Arena in London on May 13, but he is already looking ahead to bigger things.
Key moments
According to Wardley, he is eyeing a showdown with Usyk, who holds the WBA, WBO, and IBF world titles, after he has dealt with Dubois.
‘I’m not stopping at one belt,’ Wardley said. ‘I want to be the best in the world and I want to unify the division.’
Reaction
Wardley’s ambition is clear, and he is not afraid to speak his mind, which has earned him a reputation as one of the most outspoken boxers in the sport.
‘I’m not just going to be a one-belt wonder,’ he added. ‘I want to be a two-belt, three-belt, four-belt champion. I want to be the best that I can be.’
